PUBLIC CHARGE COMMUNITY FORUM
November 16th, 5-6:30 PM
Tlanezcalli Community Center
2770 Third Avenue, 1st Floor, Bronx, NY 10455
Do you have questions about how accessing public benefits now could affect a future immigration application?
The current administration has proposed certain changes to the rules governing “public charge.” These rules are used to determine if a person who is applying to adjust their status might depend solely on public benefits in the future. If you want to learn more about the proposed changes, how they might affect you, and next steps, come to this community forum!
There will be a limited number of consultations with attorneys available. The consultations will focus on public benefit eligibility and public charge — they will not be immigration screenings. An appointment is required. To make an appointment, call Gilberto Alvarado at 347-297-4922.
There will also be childcare for children ages 4+, also limited. If you need childcare, please arrive early.
Call Masa with any questions at 718-360-6655.
