There are several foundations and private businesses that are offering scholarships for undocumented students who have shown good academic performance and interest in helping their own community.
The City University of New York offers scholarship opportunities to students regardless of their inmigration status. Students that have a High School diploma issued by a New York high school can obtain up to $1,250.00 in scholarships per academic year, they may also be eligible for instate tuition, or they can obtain full scholarship for a four year bachelor’s degree.

What is the In-State Tuition?
The New York In-State Tuition policy was first implemented in 1989 by CUNY in order to allow undocumented students to pay the same College rates as other USA residents and citizens pay. In 2001, after the terrorist attacks of September 11, the policy was suspended and reestablish in the summer of 2002 as a New York State Law that would allow students to attend CUNY and the State University of New York.
What are the requirements to be eligible for the In-State Tuition?
Every student that attended a NY State high school for at least two years and applies at the SUNY or CUNY within five years of receiving a New York State high school diploma.
Can I apply if I did not finish high school, but obtained my GED?
Students with a GED issued by any institution within the New York State, are also eligible for the In-State Tuition.
What happens if I am already enrolled at a SUNY or CUNY program?
Every student attending the SUNY or CUNY after the fall of 2001 can apply for the In-State tuition.
What do I need in order to apply for the In-State Tuition?
You just need to file and affidavit with any of the colleges stating that you have applied to legalize your immigration status, or that you will do so as soon as you are elected.

What do I need to proof my New York residence?
You may need to submit two of the following documents or bills:
- Telephone
- Con Edison
- Bank statements
- Apartment lease or a notarized letter from the person that owns the apartment’s leased

Peter F. Vallone Academic Scholarship.
This scholarship is offering up to $1,250.00 per academic year.
In order to qualify the student must:
- Have attained a “B” or higher average and successfully completed at least 12 College Preparatory Initiative (Regents level) year long courses;
- Have graduated from a New York high school; and
- Enroll as full-time student at a branch of the City University of New York within one year of high school graduation.

CUNY Honors College
The Cuny Honors College offers free education for high avhiever students regardless of their inmigration status. The applications are accepted every fall term.

What kind of Scholarship are available for Undocumented Students
